Lake Erie is known for her violent moods. Even her name Erie comes from the native word Erige which means Lake of the Cat. . Because her mood can change as quickly as a cat. I’m in absolute awe (and at times I’ll admit a little bit frightened when I watch these waves break before me that seem to go off like an atomic bomb! It’s an amazing spectacle right off the beach in Port Stanley. This isn’t the kind of wave image I post, I usually post them at the point in time before they “explode” I wanted to see if you could get a sense of the power this water explodes with. It sounds like a freight train going through a tunnel in a thunderstorm!
