The freeze-up of Hudson Bay arrived a little early this year & the polar bears have disappeared one by one from Churchill to spend the winter on the ice hunting seals. With the early freeze up my opportunity to photograph the bears this week has disappeared like the bears themselves. While I’m completely gutted about it, this is good news for the bears. The well being of the bears is far more important than my images of them. So Churchill will have to wait till next year. This brings#PolarBearWeek to and end & along with it my last opportunity to photograph these majestic animals this year. This image photographed on assignment with One Ocean Expeditions in September.
